Diving Hin Muang

The sun was rising when we left Saladan. About 6.30am the boat of Andaman Dive Adventure started to the South. The sea was calm – it seemed to be a good day to dive at Hin Muang, Hin Daeng and Koh Ha.

Diving Hin Muang and Hin Daeng

Hin Muang

Hin Muang

The two dive spots are two of the most famous spots in Thailand. It takes round about 3,5 hours by a big boat to go there.
When the boat of Andaman Dive Adventure arrived at Hin Muang we were the first boat there. The dive was amazing.
Hin Muang means purple rock and is an advanced dive site. The top is in around 8 metres depth and the reef goes down to 60 metres. Depends on the tight, the current can be really strong there. At Hin Muang we spotted spot massive groupers, titan triggerfishes, hunting travellies and a lot more. The purple corals around the rock are impressive.
Especially around Christmas until February the possibility to spot Mantas is quite high. If you are lucky, you can see a whale shark around.
After the first dive we moved to Hin Daeng, which is close to Hin Muang. Hin Daeng is a rock, which is coming up to the surface. The dive site is a great place with a lot of red corals.
We spotted a lot of sea dweller, however unfortunately no Mantas like on our last trip.

Koh Ha Lagoon

On the way back to Saladan the boat has to pass Koh Ha. Andaman Dive Adventure offered a third dive here. After the two deep dives at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang it was a great chance to finish the day at Koh Ha Lagoon spotting small sea dwellers.

Ghost Pipefish, Koh Ha Lagoon

Ghost Pipefish, Koh Ha Lagoon

Koh Ha Lagoon is at islands number three. In front of the Lagoon there are two other Islands Number two and four. The Lagoon and Islands number two and four are full of life. You can spot a sea moth, ghost pipefishes, harlequin shrimps, school of barracudas, sea snakes and a lot more. We started our dive in the Lagoon close to islands number four and crossed the sandy bottom to number two. At number two we spotted a massive school of small barracudas, a block with different kind of shrimps, glassfishes and ghost pipefishes.
It was an impressive end of an amazing diving day.
On the way back we enjoyed the sunset. We arrived in Saladan around 6:30pm. It was a long however an amazing day.
